Transcript of episode: The Freeway

 

Act I 

Pat: (on other end of phone) Janice, It's Pat.  Let's go shopping.  

Dr. N!Godatu: Well... OK.  I can be ready in....  

Pat: Pick you up in twenty minutes! (click)  

Dr. N!Godatu: Pat has a high metabolism.  We're very different, but, that's what makes the world go 'round!  

Act II  
  
(Dr. N!Godatu and Pat driving in convertible):  

Dr. N!Godatu: Well, where should we go?  

Pat:  Let's check out Macy's first, then hit the Emporium.  That way, I wont have to go on to the you-know-what.  

Dr. N!Godatu: (looking into the camera) Pat will not drive on the freeway, or through tunnels, or over bridges.  It rather limits where we shop!  
You know, Pat, you really should see someone about this phobia business, it's....  

Pat: ...Wait a minute.  I can't be in this lane.  This lane goes left!  On to the freeway!  

Dr. N!Godatu:  Oh, dear.  Oooh my......  

Act III  
  
Dr. N!Godatu:  Well, Pat, here we are, sailing right along on the freeway just like all the other people.  And you're doing just fine.  Just fine! (other cars beeping...) (as a bus passes them, sitting inside is another Pat!, and also a horse..)  
  

Act IV  
  
Pat: Oh no!  

Dr. N!Godatu:  Oh, look Pat, there's an exit sign.  Why don't we just slow down and....  

Pat:  Slow down?  

Dr. N!Godatu:  Yes, Pat, just lift your foot up a bit from the gas peddle and..... (the car exits the freeway)  

Pat:  I went on the freeway!  

Dr. N!Godatu: Yes you did, Pat.  That was good.  Good for you!  Another victory for our side.....
